An independent NGO established in Baghdad on Aug 23, 2005 and registered in the Kurdistan Region since 2009. We promote environmental awareness, defend human rights, and contribute to sustainable development with a focus on youth, women, and children.

Our Mission

We lead national initiatives in education, research, advocacy, and capacity building, supporting the development and implementation of policies and legislation on human rights, environmental protection, and climate action. We strengthen the participation of youth, women, and vulnerable groups to reduce environmental and health risks and enhance social cohesion, safety, and peace in Iraq.

Our Strategic Objectives

  • Rights & Environmental Justice Advance human rights and environmental justice, ensuring inclusion of the most vulnerable groups in programs and policies.
  • Education & Behavior Change Lead education and awareness efforts to turn knowledge into sustainable behaviors in schools, universities, and communities.
  • Research & Evidence Produce credible research, monitoring, and evidence on environmental and health risks and translate it into actionable recommendations.
  • Policy & Advocacy Support the development and implementation of policies and legislation through advocacy and stakeholder partnerships.
  • Resilience & Peace Strengthen resilience, social cohesion, and peace by reducing environmental and health risks and linking environment to safety and peace.

Our Program Areas

  • Disseminate environmental management knowledge aligned with international standards.
  • Provide consultancy to public and private sectors to enhance environmental protection.
  • Build capacity to implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Publish specialized environmental newsletters and magazines.
  • Encourage scientific research in environment and human rights.
  • Empower women economically, socially, and in health.

How We Deliver

  1. Deliver training and capacity-building for individuals, institutions, and local authorities.
  2. Run seminars, talks, and produce knowledge materials on environment, human rights, and climate action.
  3. Conduct research, assessments, community monitoring, and document environmental risks and violations.
  4. Lead advocacy campaigns and support policy/legislation development and implementation follow-up.
  5. Strengthen participation of youth, women, and vulnerable groups through community platforms and initiatives.
  6. Partner with local/international organizations, universities, and the private sector for sustainable impact.
